Iceskating...

Craig started a new job up here and he has been working there for about 2-weeks now, and they had an ice skating work party last night. The kids were SOOOO excited to go!! But, It had just been one of those days where I had run out of patience with them and the house was a mess and I had a million things to do PLUS I didn't want to spend a 1/2 hour trying to get them all in their snow suits and gear. So needless to say, I WAS IN A ROTTEN MOOD. Does anyone else just have those crummy days that make you wanna lock your door and curl up in bed with the covers over your head??? Well It was one of those days...But, we had to go to the party because we promised the kids and I am SO glad we did, because it instantly made me in a better mood to see them so happy and we had a lot of fun as a family. I think sometimes I get a little postpartum depression when I am stuck in my house all the time, plus the fact that it is winter doesn't help at all, so this was defiantly good for me to get out and have some fun :) Here are a few pictures...

It took us about 20-minutes to get everyone's skates on :) So, the kids were pretty impatient by the time we took this picture...look at Ky's face. hehe.
I couldn't stop laughing at them. They were so clumsy and could not really move around much. Mckay go the hang of it, but we had to push Ky around a lot.
They thought the little walkers were fun...I thought they really looked disabled.
Craig & I took turns with them and holding Piper where it was warm. Ky loved going fast!
Just looking at this picture makes me laugh! Kinda hard to get a sharp picture when I am skating around them trying to stop and take a shot. Oh well...I got some good (blurry) pictures anyways.
I tired to explain using the toe pick to her to push off...she didnt get it :)
Mckay learned not to let go of the walker....although I think he did this on purpose.
Santa was there and when the kids saw him their faces just lite up....look at those two 100% real genuine smiles...no coaxing or bribing required. It has been a fun holiday so far because the kids really understand the whole Santa thing this year. They wrote him letters and we mailed them, and then yesterday they got letters back from him in the mail. Plus, I bribe them ALL THE TIME with being good for Santa or they won't get presents. Works so well! Don't worry they know that it is Jesus's birthday too :)

So cute! I wanna go ice skating with my family! Looks like your kids had a blast! Enjoy Christmas this year...I'm scared that in a couple years Tyler will stop believing in Santa Claus so I've got to really live in the moment!

Love you!
Amy

BTW-Where did Craig start working? Is he still going to school?

How cute are your kids?! Oh they're too adorable. The pic with santa is priceless :) looks like you had a lot of fun and it's true that sometimes going and doing things you thought you didn't want to do really lifts the spirits. Hang in there

Heck yeah I have those days! I swear winter is the worst for me, usually around 5 every night I reach the end of my rope, but I totally agree, when I get out and change my scenery a little I feel like a whole new person! I'm glad you guys had fun, I love ice skating!

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who has days like that. I am with you about being cooped up in the house for too long, drives me crazy.
Glad you guys had a great time at the ice skating party. You can tell by your kids faces how much fun they had.
